House to House is our small group ministry at ACF. The name comes from one of the verses upon which our church was founded, Acts 2:46 (NASB): “Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart.” We believe that true community doesn’t happen between the walls of the church. We believe that it takes place in the homes of The Church.

We were created to live in community with each other. It is a basic need that every person has. Romans 12:4-5 tell us that we are all part of the body of Christ and each of us has a different function. We need each other in order for us to function the way God intended. House to House ministry is the way ACF meets that need.

House to House groups meet throughout the week, some groups have childcare available and others do not. If you are interested in connecting with one of our House 2 House leaders you can click here.

When you visit you will find a group of about 7-15 people who meet at a host home for Bible Study, prayer, fellowship, care, and ministry together. If you have any questions about our House to House ministry email H2H@visitacf.com

Our House to House groups are rooted in 12 values.

We believe if our groups are following these 12 values they will be truly living in community.

  1. H2H Group

A cell (H2H Group) is a small group of believers who meet together on a weekly basis to be the body of Christ to and for on another.

  2. Community

“Community is being responsible for one another and accountable to one another.” “Christian Community” is sharing together in the life of Christ doing life under his direction where we are responsible for and accountable to one another.

  3. Caring

Doing church together means that the timely delivery of the care of Christ to every member of the body is a must. Caring in a H2H group is like the on-going experiences of a healthy family!

  4. Celebration

Life loses its meaning without the celebration of the meaningful events, experiences and victories of one’s life.

  5. Leadership

If there is going to be health and growth in the body of Christ there must be a continual raising up, training and empowering of new leadership. All believers who are of sound mind and are in right relationship to Jesus Christ can lead a H2H group.

  6. Ministry

H2H groups make possible the New Testament concept of every believer a minister. H2H groups facilitate the discovery and immediate implementation of spiritual gifts.

  7. Discovery

H2H groups promote health as each member seeks to discover and share the will of God from: The Word of God, Community Prayer, and Discussion around the group. H2H groups are not a classroom!

  8. Disclosure

James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working”. Health is promoted and experienced through appropriate disclosure.

  9. Listening

Health in the body more often than not begins when we listen before we speak. When we listen, we say, “you are important to me and I take you seriously.” We say, “I care about what you are experiencing.” We say, “I want to help.” We say, “You are not alone but are part of the community.”

  10. Relationships

Relationships with other believers, but also, intentional and loving relationships with unbelievers, bring health to the body of Christ. God has made it possible for every member of a H2H group to play a strategic role in bringing disconnected people to faith in Christ and to experience authentic biblical community.

  11. Multiplication

If the H2H group is healthy, there will be multiplication, but we must expect it and organize for it. The best way for our H2H ministry to grow is through multiplication.

Remember the “Empty Chair Principle” –

This idea comes from the visual of your group sitting in a circle and one of the chairs is intentionally left empty for the person who has not come yet. The person you are inviting. We should be praying for that empty chair and the person that will fill it.

12. Discipleship

Matthew 28:19a says “Go therefore andmake disciples of all nations” There is a difference between disciples and converts or church members.
